Plein-Air Painter - Sculptor - Photographer

“I am currently exploring the relationship between nature and the emotive response: primarily ceramic hares and Plein-Air landscapes. Form, whether it’s that of a wild animal or sweeping Italian landscape, is always so much more complicated then your eye would like to believe it is. The more you look: the more you see”

All works are made with Michael Harding oil paint, on to linen canvas boards.

Initial studies would be made with a variety of media: charcoal, watercolour, ink, oil bars.

“Plein Air painting is the emotional response to a given landscape. Usually, oil on linen, painted outside so wet paint over wet paint. It tends to mean the work is more decisive and expresses as a result”
